Hannah Goodwin, based in the Waikato, New Zealand, is both an artist and designer. She creates lively colourful abstracts in a variety of media. Although some of the visual elements in her work are inspired by nature, Hannah’s main focus when creating a composition is to explore the interplay of colour, marks and patterns.  When she begins an artwork, Hannah starts with a fluid concept of the final image, but allows the artwork to take its own journey. Usually one of the first steps when starting an new work is to quickly sketch some marks. The rest of the work develops in response to the those initial marks, along with choices of whatever media, colours, marks or patterns that seem to fit in that context.
